Episode One. "Natural Selection"
I have accepted an invitation to travel, taking scientific notes of the natural plants and animals that I find. Well, it's better than spending my whole life hunting and riding in the English countryside, which is what I'm sure I'd be doing otherwise. The area I am investigating has rather troublesome bats, but on the other hand, I have heard tales that the creepers are friendly and not inclined to blow you to kingdom come, in their familiar fashion.

Episode Two. "Descended from Bats"
While it was essential for me to stop to onboard supplies, I can delay no longer - I must venture around the native countryside an take stock of the new and wonderful flora and fauna that I discover. The bats are becoming more than an annoyance. I hesitate to say it, but they are a little menacing, and certainly not easy to deter! I see a creeper, and want to test the story I have heard of their unusual good nature - but events take another turn...!

Episode Three. "Adapt and Survive"
We must all learn from our experiences, if we are to improve. So I have been looking back on my first meetings with the novel creatures of this strange new world: the mischievous bats and the friendly creepers. I think I may know something new of their behaviours, but I must be sure before I change my own behaviour to handle them more effectively. To be sure, I must run tests.

Episode Four. "Quietly Evolving to Fit the Circumstances"
We can't always approach every situation in the same manner. Flexibility, adaptability, fitting your behaviour to the situation; these are all valuable survival mechanisms. That's the long story. The short story is that it's a dark night and I've got a cold. I don't do 'brave' under those conditions!

Episode Five. "A Migration"
Feeling slightly brighter, I set off across country to track down some warm, dry biomes that I believe must be in this neighbourhood. However, as the trek gets longer and longer, with still no sign, a certain doubt begins to settle in my mind.

Episode Six. "Hanging Off the Ceiling"
Once before, I had descended to the depths and been forced to return without useful gain. Now I am there again - poised on the brink and fully aware that I can't afford to waste days on diamond hunts. While deep, far from the sun's gentle light, I meet more of the local chiroptera and am able to study them in a cave environment. I may have done this a little too assiduously! I caught myself clinging to the ceiling, after their familiar night-time style. That is not good for a man!

Episode Seven. "Turning for Home"
I have been out collecting rare specimens for so long, I am staggering under the weight! It is high time I returned and deposited them all in my collection. The journey home is a long one. Perhaps I will find more areas of interest as I travel ...

Episode Eight. "Eggy's Birthday Party!"
I need only a few more things before this expedition is over. Some of them are easy enough, but some of them may require a protracted search. I permit myself a little personal indulgence: I have to see Eggy's birthplace, while I am in the neighbourhood. After all, I might not get another chance!

Episode Nine. "The Sands of Time Run Out"
Twice before, I have dug deep in search of diamonds, and each time I gave up cheaply - drawn back to the surface by the promise of fresh air and sunlight. But this time I must stay down until I have what I need. This could take 5 minutes or 5 hours!
